During a pre-recorded section of the JKLive show, Jeff Koinange, hosted his three East Africa Got Talent co-judges and the host.
The judges; Gaetano Kagwa, Vanessa Mdee, Makedo Mahadeo and the host, Anne Kansiime, all took the viewers through their daily life schedules.
While talking about his tight schedule, Jeff stated that besides being a news anchor and a radio presenter, he also hosts a live country music show every Saturday.
The Citizen TV news anchor noted that his mother, Mary Nyambura Koinange, attended his show dubbed Country Roads, for the first time since 2016 when he was starting the festival.
He added that throughout his high school life, his mother never attended his performances.
“My mother for the first time showed up. In school, I did so much from sports, debates, musical and she never showed up. She waited until I am 53 when I’m almost off the stage, but it was amazing,” he told the other EAGT judges.
On September 26, 2019, the media personality told Kenyans.co.ke that his mother turning 82 was special for him because it marked 53 years since she was widowed at only 28.
“Dear Mama, as you turn 82 years old this week, here’s wishing you a happy birthday and many more wonderful years ahead.
“Thanks for introducing all your children to country music more than 40 years ago and thanks for always being there for us and for never giving up. Love you much and God Bless you always!” he stated.
